SOUNDWAVES FESTIVAL

After the great success of our concert at the Soundwaves Festival last year, we’ve been invited back! This year’s concert will also feature pieces by students on the Composer’s Academy with whom Talkestra are going to be working. This is real contemporary music with no guitars or back beats in sight. This year we’re playing Derek Bermel’s wonderfully entertaining Language Instruction where the clarinet asumes the role of the ‘teacher’ on a langauge tape with violin, cello and piano it’s willing or not so willing students. Also the vibrant, exciting sounds of Graham Fitkin and a beautifully haunting nocturne from one of Britain’s most distinguished composers, John Woolrich.

Sunday 22nd June - 3.00

Pavilion Theatre, Brighton

Programme to include

John Woolrich - In the Mirrors of Asleep

Derek Bermel - Language Instruction

Graham Fitkin - Ardent
